Site Utilities is $35/month for ongoing technical upkeep. Here’s what that work involves. Before you sign up, we’ll set out the setup and coverage for your website so you know what we handle and what needs a separate arrangement.

Managed hosting & HTTPS
Hosting is where your website lives. HTTPS protects the connection between the site and its visitors. We explain the hosting setup and look after the technical side covered by your service.

A way back when things go wrong
Backups & recovery
A backup is a saved copy of your site. If something goes wrong, it gives us somewhere to start recovering. We’ll explain how often copies are made, how long they’re kept and what a restore would involve.

Software kept up to date
Routine maintenance
WordPress, Divi and plugins keep changing. Keeping supported software current helps avoid problems. Updates need checking, too: a new version should still work with the rest of your site.

Checks that help protect your site
Security & uptime monitoring
Security checks can flag vulnerable software or suspicious activity. Monitoring can also tell us when a site stops responding. We agree which checks your site needs and how issues are handled.

Lighter images. Efficient pages.
Performance upkeep
Big image files and unnecessary loading work can slow a page down. Tools such as Smush and Hummingbird help us find opportunities to make the site lighter and review how it loads.

When something needs explaining, you can ask us. Send the page link and tell us what you’re seeing. We’ll explain the next step and whether it falls within your ongoing care or needs separate work.
BACKUPS IN PRACTICE
Here’s what a backup actually looks like.
This is the backup history for our own Goodfast website, inside WPMU DEV. Each dated entry is a copy we can return to if we need it. You don’t have to spend your evenings learning this screen.

Say an update causes a problem. We check what happened and whether an earlier copy would help. A restore can also remove changes made since that copy, so we check that before going ahead.

We use WPMU DEV’s management tools to help with the technical jobs. The setup depends on your site, and we explain what is enabled for you.

Use your editing guide to change pictures, words and opening hours. If you need help or want something new, send us a message.

Know what you’re signing up for.
Website build and ongoing care
The introductory website build is $1,000. Site Utilities is a separate $35/month service. We explain enrollment, when billing starts and how to end the service before you sign up.
Everyday edits and new work
You can make everyday content edits with your own access. New pages, redesigns, additional photography and new features are separately scoped and quoted before work begins.
Domains, email and other subscriptions
Your domain, business email and any extra paid services need their own arrangements. We’ll show you which costs sit outside Site Utilities and who owns each account before you commit.
Help and recovery coverage
Email Goodfast when you need help. Your service summary explains response arrangements, backup retention and recovery coverage. If a job falls outside that coverage, we’ll explain it before starting.
Ownership and moving elsewhere
You have access to your website and your content remains yours. If you want to move it, we’ll explain the transfer steps, any assistance cost and which hosting or software subscriptions you’ll need for the new setup.
